Farhana and Ryan exchanged “I Do’s” at the scenic West Palm Beach Lake Pavilion. A sleek combination of the metropolitan downtown area and gorgeous ocean views, it was the perfect setting to kick off the fusion wedding events for an equally as lovely couple.
Hailing from Georgia, Farhana, Ryan, and Farhana’s lovely mother landed in Florida with sweet smiles and a vision for their big day, complete with photos and descriptions. Without the need to pull ideas, we jumped in head first as she excitedly shared ideas with us about her culture-filled, fusion wedding plans, and how to best incorporate her traditions.
Some of these customs were too adorable to forget. For instance, before their first look, Farhana was hidden around the venue by her bridal party and in order for Ryan to see her, he had to pay the bridesmaids! That wasn’t the only search Ryan had to complete before walking down the aisle… his shoes were hidden too!
Farhana and Ryan incorporated their own, unique elements to truly craft their own day. They requested Lily of the Valley’s for their wedding, not only for their sweet look but because Farhana would be taking Lily as her last name. The couple brimmed with glee when describing their sentimental additions; a smile we won’t soon forget. Cherry blossom trees, a symbol of the beauty of life, also felt important to the couple. In Florida, cherry blossom trees aren’t widely available, so we were able to construct our own with branches and blooms. They became a staple of the ceremony and tied together the organic, free-flowing greenery and minimalist accents.
One of the (many) highlights of working with Ryan and Farhana was their chameleon-like vision for their day. A new-age take on a fusion wedding; a minimal and elegant ceremony was transformed into a bold, dramatic reception look while never straying from their personalities.
Vivid black and antique gold lent a Gatsby-like feel and made Farhana and Ryan’s traditional dress pop. Guests enjoyed an evening of laughter and warmth while the sunset in front of their eyes outside floor-to-ceiling windows. Working with Farhana, Ryan, and their family was an honor, and we’re so thankful to have been a part of crafting their vision!
